Annotation Toolbar

 

The DTS 2.0 Annotation Toolbar is located to the left of the image under the DTS 2.0 Tools.

 

 

 

Initially these will be disabled, to enable the Annotation Toolbar buttons click the Annotation Mode button .  

  

Annotation Mode

This enables the Annotation Buttons, allowing the user to use the Annotation Tools on an image. Click the button to toggle between the Annotation Tools.

Select Annotations

 

This changes the cursor from a cross-hair to a pointer and back again. This allows text to be written in text boxes.

Rectangle

This allows you to draw attention to a particular part of an image, by drawing a rectangle outline on the image.  To draw a rectangle:  click on the Rectangle Button, click and hold the left mouse button in one of the corners of the part of the image to be outlined, drag the pointer to the opposite corner and release the mouse button.  The rectangles drawn on the image can be resized by dragging any of the eight (8) resizing boxes on the rectangle.

Ellipse

This allows you to draw attention to a particular part of an image, drawing an ellipse outline on the image. To draw an ellipse click on the Ellipse button, click and hold the left mouse button in one of the corners of the part of the image to be outlined, drag the pointer to the opposite corner, and release the mouse button.  The ellipses drawn on the image can be resized by dragging any of the eight resizing boxes on/around the ellipse.

Line

This allows you to draw a straight-line on the image. To draw a line click on the Line button, hold the left mouse button at the start of the line, drag the pointer to the end of the drawn line, and release the mouse button. The line can be resized by dragging the line at the ends. The entire line can be moved by clicking the left mouse button and dragging the line to another location.

Text

This allows you to make a text annotation on the currently viewed image.  To display a text object the user needs to click on the Annotation Mode Button then click on the Text Button and draw an area on the image, next click on the Select Annotations Button and then double-click in the Text Box area, another box is opened saying "Double click to enter text". You only need to start typing to enter text.  After entering text the user needs to click outside of the text area to finish.

Highlight

This allows you to draw a yellow highlight annotation on the currently viewed image. To draw a highlight, the user needs to click on the Highlight Button on the Annotation Toolbar, then using the mouse the user needs to draw a rectangle on the image. That will become highlighted on the image.  The highlight drawn on the image can be resized by dragging one of the eight resizing boxes around the highlighted area.

 Disclaimer

This allows you to display a disclaimer message/object on the image. To display a Disclaimer, the user needs to click on the Disclaimer Button on the Annotation Toolbar, then using the mouse the user needs to place the object by clicking the mouse on the image.  The text in the disclaimer can be customized by editing the disclaimer.txt file located in C:\Program Files\Data Trace\DTS2 in the user's computer.  If the file is not found, the word "Disclaimer" will be displayed in the disclaimer area.

 

You can also set the zoom factor as Fit Width, Fit Window, or Custom zoom factor using the Zoom Factor Combo Box located in the Navigation tools under the image. Annotations will automatically adjust according to the zoom factor.
