Nicknaming

Users may choose to use Nicknaming or Wildcard Matching for searching an individual's first name in the General Name or Grantor/Grantee title services. Nicknaming is not used in the Party Name qualifier field. Nicknaming must be set to "No" when using wildcards in the individual's First name field.

Each county uses either Wildcard Matching or Soundex, but not both, to match a Company name or an individual's Last name. This is normally decided prior to introducing a county into the Data Trace system.

A social security number (SSN) search qualifier can be used to limit the search results of a General or Grantor/Grantee search. Entering the last four (4) digits of the party's SSN will return all matches of the party name with the last 4 digits of the SSN and all matches of the party name without SSN.
