Selecting the (B) Block/Lot search option from the Main Menu displays an input screen similar to the following:
Additional search options are available when using the Block/Lot selection:
Use the Block/Lot service to search a property that is identified by a Block and Lot description.
Choose the General Names service from the Search Parameters panel menu to search the parties in a transaction.
Choose Profile/User Profile/Block_Lot from the menu bar to modify property and name search default options. This screen includes specifying qualifiers and types to the order, Block/Lot, or the names. Not all qualifiers and no types are used with an Investigative Search.
Municipality or SWIS Code
The Municipality menu allows the user to select the municipality locale if the SWIS Code is not available. The selection of the municipality will automatically place the corresponding six-digit SWIS Code in the SWIS Code box and disable the field.
The SWIS Code is a six-digit code indicator that corresponds to a specific city, town, or borough within New York (NY). When the locale in the SWIS Code dropdown menu has been selected, the "Select One" in the Municipality dropdown menu will be disabled to prevent multiple selections.
When the Full List checkbox is unchecked, the user will have only the local cities, towns, boroughs, etc. in the dropdown menu. The users login will determine the locales available which are usually in the same county they are logged into. If the user has changed county, only the locales in the current county will be available.
When the Full List checkbox is checked, the dropdown list will display all municipalities in the state. The user's access rights and/or the state which the user has logged into will determine exactly which municipalities are presented to the user. The Full List checkbox will remain enabled until the selections in the Application Window panels are submitted to be added to the Search List.
The user will be able to perform functions for the locale selected based on security settings. Therefore based on the user's security level, and their service and access settings, they may not have access to every county in the state or every service offered in DTS 2.0.
