Property Taxes - Wayne

Select the X) Property Taxes option from Wayne, MI service menu to open the Property Taxes input screen.

Wayne County APN (tax parcel id#) uses two formats: The city of Detroit uses Ward and Item number. The rest of the County uses APN format.

City of Detroit:

Sample 22-65342 Ward 22, Item 65342

• First 2 digits are CVT

• Next 2 are the Ward

• Last  digits are the Item number can be up to 11 characters long

Hamtramck City:

Uses a 6-4-4 parcel format

Dearborn City:

Uses a 2-2-3-2-3 format

APN System used for the balance of county:

Sample 2-3-2-4-3

• 1st field, CVT- 2 numeric characters

• 2nd field, Tax map page - Up to 3 numeric characters

• 3rd field, Lot number/Acreage designator- if Lot then Lot number; if Acreage then 099 (all numeric)

• 4th field, Area number - 4 numeric characters

• 5th field, Split number/Item number - 3 numeric characters, split number for acreage or item number for subdivided

A property can be searched by owner's name, a street address or an APN number.

Requesting a Qualifying Parameter

The View Tax button will allow users to verify the exact or partial APN for a specific parameter prior to having a parameter added to the search list. The View Tax button works only with parameters currently entered into the main parameter panel. Pressing the View Tax button will allow the user to view any ambiguous parameters entered in the main parameter panel.

If only one parameter is entered when the View Tax button is pressed, the parameter will be submitted and either a Tax Index (if more than one result) or Tax Detail (if exact match) result  will be returned. If no match exists, an empty index will show a "No match found" message.
